BRIDGE COURSE LITERATURE

Bridging Education – Nurturing Student Growth

Dear Educators,

You have been entrusted with the comprehensive details of the 15-day Setubandha program. I urge you to read and internalize this literature. Our goal is to foster a dynamic learning environment that is activity-based, child-centered, and enjoyable.

The activities outlined in this literature serve as examples. However, I encourage you to adapt them creatively to suit your local context and the unique needs of your students. These activities should not merely be organizational tools; they are powerful instruments for ensuring effective learning.

In implementing these activities, consider the learning needs of all students, not just a select few. To facilitate this, we offer additional counter-learning activities. Currently, this literature focuses on Basic Literacy and Numeracy, complementing the science curriculum. It aligns with ten learning outcomes, bridging the gap between the previous year’s achievements and the current year’s goals.

Here are some key points:

FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy):

  1. Utilize science learning materials available in school to address FLN gaps identified during pre-tests.
  2. If a full 15-day FLN study is necessary, allocate additional attention to bridging other learning outcomes during teaching.

Enjoyable Learning:

  1. Tailor activities to individual students based on their backgrounds and learning levels.
  2. Prioritize enjoyable learning experiences during the bridging process.

Action Planning:

  1. After post-tests, formulate an action plan using Form 5 of the SAP (Student Achievement Plan).
  2. Implement student-specific action plans to achieve FLN for those who still struggle even after passing the test.

Science Perspective:

  1. Emphasize scientific attitude, logical thinking, and practical knowledge development.
  2. Address any gaps in essential subjects from previous classes.

Our overarching aim is to prepare students for the current academic year. By teaching FLN, science concepts, and relevant content from the previous year, we lay the foundation for qualitative learning. Let us effectively organize these activities and dedicate this literature to our students’ growth.

Wishing you all the best on this educational journey!
