Good morning to everyone. We are here to celebrate Independence Day. I am happy to speak today and thank my teacher for this chance. I will talk about India’s fight for freedom from British rule.
Many years ago, great Indian leaders worked hard and made sacrifices to give us a free and peaceful country. Today, we celebrate Independence Day happily because of their bravery. We can’t imagine how difficult it was back then. We can’t repay our forefathers for their hard work and sacrifices. We can only remember them and salute them from our hearts during national events. They will always be in our hearts. After independence, India was born again, and all Indian citizens were happy.
India got independence on August 15, 1947, from British rule. Every year, Indian people celebrate this day with joy and excitement. It was a great day when India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, raised the tricolor flag at the Red Fort in Delhi.
Every year, a big celebration happens in New Delhi at Rajpath. The national anthem is sung after the flag is raised by the Prime Minister. There are 21 gun salutes and flower showers from helicopters to honor the national flag. Independence Day is a national holiday, but everyone celebrates it in their own way by raising flags at schools, offices, or in their communities. We should feel proud to be Indian and do our best to honor our country.
JAY HIND, JAY BHARAT!
