A. Answer the following questions in a sentence or two each.
1. Where do most plants get food from?
Ans: Most plants got food from soil.
2. When do plants make food? Sit in groups, discuss and get the correct
answer.
Ans: Plants get water, salts and other things from the soil. They mix all
these things in their leaves and prepare their food when the sun shines.
3. How does the pitcher-plant hunt bees?
Ans: Pitcher plant’s leaves are shaped like a jug or a pitcher. At the
bottom of this pitcher like shape, there is a liquid. The smell of this liquid
atracts bees. When a bee sits on the top and slips down the jug like leaf, it
can’t climb up.And the trapped bee is hunted by the plant slowly.
4. Why do butterflies come and sit on the hair-like parts of the sundew?
Ans: At the end of each of the hair like part, there is a tiny drop of sticky liquid.It
shines like a bead in the bright sun.These shining bead attracts butterflies.
So butterflies come and sit on the hair-like parts of the sundew.
B. Answer the following questions in three or four sentences each.
1. Describe the sundew?
Ans: Sundew is a insect eater plant. Its leaves look like club. There are
long hair-like parts on the leaves drooping outwards. At the end of each of the
hair like part, there is a tiny drop of sticky liquid. It shines like a bead in
the bright sun. These shining bead attracts butterflies.When a butterfly sits
on these hair-like parts, its body gets stuck in the sticky liquid. These parts
slowly close on the butterfly and then it is eaten by sundew.
2. Why do some plants live on other living beings?
Ans: Plants get water, slats and other things from soil. With the help of
sunlight, plants make their own food. But Some plants which grow on poor soil cannot
make food for themselves.So such plants
live on other living beings.
3. What is venus fly trap?
Ans: Venus fly trap is an insect eater plant. Its long leaves have two
flaps at the top. When a fly sits on a leaf, the flaps close and the fly is
squeezed inside. The flaps work as a trap so it is called venus fly trap.
II. All of us have some habits. Some of them are good, some are not so good
and some are bad. Ten common habits are given below. Classify them under three
different heads. Discuss in groups and classify them.

2. Work according to a plan.
3. Getting up early in the morning.
4. Playing games in the evening.
