Disley gets Rs 7 crore Global Teacher Award

India received the honor for the first time
The
Global Teacher Prize, jointly organized by UNESCO and the London-based Warkey
Foundation, was announced today. It was officially announced by actor Stephen
Fry at a ceremony at the Natural History Museum in London.He
has become the first Indian teacher to receive such an award. Disley Guruji has
been announced as the final winner out of the nominations of 12,000 teachers
from 140 countries around the world. This award has been announced not only for
Maharashtra but also for the work done in the field of education in the country
through QR coded books.
Ranjit Singh Disley has announced that 50 per
cent of the total prize money will be given to 9 finalists, which will provide
quality education to thousands of children in 9 countries. The money received
by Disley Guruji will be used for the Teacher Innovation Fund, which will boost
innovation among teachers.
