77th Republic Day Celebration

1. Grand Opening (Introduction)
“Freedom in mind, Faith in words,
Pride in our heart, Memories in our souls.
Let us salute the nation on this glorious day!”

Host: As Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose once powerfully said:

“Nations are made by themselves. We can take guidance, cooperation, and advice in certain matters but not patronage and diction… We are not children but a mature nation with the wisdom of 6000 years behind us.”

Good morning to our visionary Principal, our distinguished Chief Guest, respected teachers, supportive parents, and my energetic fellow students. I am your host for today’s celebration.

It is a moment of immense pride as we gather under this vast sky to celebrate India’s 77th Republic Day. 77 years ago, our nation’s soul found utterance through a document that redefined our destiny, and today, we honor that journey of sovereignty.

2. Flag Hoisting Ceremony

The Tricolor is not just a piece of cloth; it is the manifestation of our national spirit and the shroud of our martyrs. I request the entire assembly to prepare for the honors.

“School… Attention!”
“Stand at ease!”
“School… Attention!”

I now most humbly invite our Honorable Chief Guest and our Principal to the hoisting stage to unfurl our National Flag.

(Flag is unfurled)

Host: “I request everyone to remain at attention and salute our Tricolor as we join our voices for the National Anthem.”

(National Anthem Plays – Jan Gan Man…)

“Bharat Mata Ki — Jai!”

3. Welcome & Lamp Lighting
“Atithi Devo Bhava”

In India, we believe in this sacred principle, meaning the guest is equivalent to God. We are truly privileged to have such eminent personalities with us to witness this celebration of democracy.

To mark this auspicious beginning, I invite our dignitaries to perform the traditional Lamp Lighting (Deep Prajwalan).

“Subham Karoti Kalyanam, Arogyam Dhana Sampadam…”

As we light this flame, let it symbolize the dispelling of the darkness of ignorance and the ushering in of the light of knowledge and constitutional wisdom. Just as a single lamp can light many others, let our commitment to the nation spread from heart to heart.

4. Significance of the Day (The “Why”)

Many ask, what is the difference between August 15th and January 26th?

On August 15, 1947, we gained liberation from British rule, yet we remained a constitutional monarchy. But on January 26, 1950, India ceased to be a dominion and emerged as a full-fledged Sovereign Democratic Republic.

We chose this specific date to honor the “Poorna Swaraj Day” first proclaimed by the Indian National Congress in 1930.

We owe this transformation to the “Architect of the Indian Constitution,” Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and the drafting committee. They labored for 2 years, 11 months, and 18 days to gift us the world’s largest written constitution.

This sacred document ensures a government ‘of the people, by the people, and for the people’, granting every citizen the precious rights of equality, justice, and liberty.

5. Cultural Program & Speeches

Host: Dr. Ambedkar once reminded us:

“As long as you don’t achieve social liberty,
whatever freedom is provided by the law is of no avail to you.”

To share their insights on these very values of liberty and responsibility, I invite our young speakers to the stage. Let us welcome them with a huge round of applause!

— [Transition to Cultural] —

As we move from the power of words to the magic of melody, remember that “Where words fail, music speaks”.

India is a land of breathtaking beauty and cultural diversity. To celebrate this harmony, our students have prepared a patriotic performance that captures the very soul of our “Incredible India.” Let the rhythm of the drums and the grace of the dance stir the patriot within you!

6. Vote of Thanks & Conclusion

As this inspiring event comes to a close, it is my pleasant duty to offer a sincere Vote of Thanks.

On behalf of the entire school, I thank our Honorable Chief Guest for sparing their valuable time to inspire us today. Our gratitude goes to our Principal and teachers for their constant guidance, and to our students and staff for their tireless efforts in making this 77th Republic Day a grand success.

“Let us carry the flame of patriotism in our hearts
and pledge to be worthy citizens of this great Republic.”

Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!
