Republic Day Anchoring Script
For Teachers & Students
sees not the flag, but the nation itself.”
– Henry Ward Beecher
Host: Good morning! As the golden sun rises on the horizon of our motherland, it brings with it the spirit of freedom and unity.
Respected Principal, our distinguished Chief Guest, esteemed teachers, supportive parents, and my dear fellow students. I am your host for today, and it is an absolute honor to welcome you all as we gather with hearts full of pride to celebrate India’s 77th Republic Day this 26th of January, 2026.
Today marks the milestone of our nation’s transition into a full sovereign republic, a day that fills every Indian soul with a deep sense of patriotism.
It is now time to honor our beloved Tricolor, the symbol of our national identity. Let us stand tall to salute the Saffron, White, and Green.
Commands:
I now most respectfully invite our Honourable Chief Guest and our Principal to the hoisting stage to unfurl the National Flag.
(Flag is unfurled)
Host: “I request everyone to remain standing at attention for the National Anthem and the Flag Salute.”
(National Anthem plays – Jan Gan Man…)
“Bharat Mata Ki – Jai!”
In the spirit of our ancient tradition, we believe our guest is equivalent to God. We are truly honored to have you grace this occasion with your presence.
To seek blessings for today’s proceedings, I invite our dignitaries to the stage for the traditional Lamp Lighting (Deep Prajwalan).
“Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya” (Lead us from darkness to light).
As Dr. B.R. Ambedkar noted, “Knowledge is the only weapon to dispel the darkness of ignorance and fear.” May this light signify our journey from the old to the new, illuminating our path toward wisdom and unity.
Many ask, why do we celebrate today when we already have Independence Day?
While August 15th commemorates our liberation from 200 years of British colonial rule in 1947, the transition to a self-governed nation was completed on this very day.
It was on January 26, 1950, that we officially adopted the Constitution of India, making us a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic Republic where the power lies with the people.
We owe this monumental document to the drafting committee led by the “Architect of the Indian Constitution,” Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. It took 2 years, 11 months, and 18 days of tireless effort to create the world’s longest written constitution, ensuring equality, justice, and liberty for every citizen.
Host: Dr. Ambedkar once said, “As long as you don’t achieve social liberty, whatever freedom is provided by the law is of no avail to you”. To reflect on these profound values, I invite our first student speaker to the stage.
(After the Speech)
Moving from words to the rhythm of our soul, they say, “Where words fail, music speaks”. India is a land of incredible cultural diversity, and today our students have prepared a performance that brings this diversity into perfect harmony.
Put your hands together and please welcome our talented performers for a soulful patriotic tribute!
As we conclude this glorious celebration, it is my pleasant duty to offer a sincere Vote of Thanks.
We are deeply grateful to our Chief Guest for sparing time from your busy schedule to inspire us. A heartfelt thank you to our Principal, staff, and students whose hard work made this event a grand success.
