Class 4 to 10 English FLN Question Paper
This English FLN Question Bank for Classes 4 to 10 is designed to support teachers in assessing students’ foundational English language skills through simple, structured, and learner-friendly questions.
The question bank covers four important learning stages:
1. Letter Stage
Students practise identifying vowels and consonants, uppercase and lowercase letters, alphabetical order, missing letters, and letter sequences. These questions help assess basic alphabet recognition and understanding.
2. Word Stage
This section focuses on 2 to 5-letter words, correct spelling, rhyming words, opposite words, missing letters, word meanings, and identification of odd words. It helps teachers understand students’ ability to recognise and use basic English vocabulary.
3. Sentence Stage
Students work with simple sentences involving basic grammar, sentence completion, correct sentence selection, common vocabulary, and everyday sentence patterns. The questions help assess students’ ability to understand and construct simple English sentences.
4. Short Paragraph Stage
This stage develops basic reading comprehension skills. Students read short and simple paragraphs and answer questions based on information such as people, objects, colours, actions, ages, and places mentioned in the passage.
The question bank is suitable for conducting FLN-based LBA assessments and can be useful for identifying students’ current learning levels and planning further classroom support.
Flexible Question Paper Preparation
Teachers can prepare a 10-mark or 20-mark English FLN question paper by selecting the required class and one or more learning stages. Questions are selected from the different stages to create a suitable assessment paper.
