77th Republic Day Celebration (2026)

Anchoring Script

1. Grand Opening (Introduction)

(Stand tall at the podium with high energy and a smile)

Teacher:

Good morning, everyone! Let us begin this auspicious day with a thought that resonates in the heart of every Indian:

“Freedom in mind, Faith in words,
Pride in our hearts, Memories in our souls.”

Respected Principal, our esteemed Chief Guest, dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and my dear students—a very warm welcome to you all.

Today, the air is filled with patriotism and pride as we gather here to celebrate the 77th Republic Day of our great nation, India. This is not just a holiday; it is a day to honor our Constitution, our democracy, and the spirit of unity that binds us together.

2. Flag Hoisting Ceremony
Teacher:

The Tricolor is our pride and our identity. It is time for the most significant moment of our gathering—the unfurling of the National Flag. According to the protocols of the Flag Code of India, I request the school assembly to come to attention.

(Commanding Voice)

• “School… Attention!” (Savdhan)
• “Stand at ease!” (Vishram)

(I now respectfully invite our Hon’ble Chief Guest and the Principal to proceed to the flag post to hoist the Tricolor.)

(As the dignitaries reach the post)
• “School… Attention!”
• “Flag Hoisting!”

(As the flag unfurls)
• “Salute!”
• “National Anthem… Start!”

(After the Anthem)
• “Jai Hind! Bharat Mata Ki… Jai!”
• “School… Stand at ease!”
3. Welcome & Lamp Lighting
Teacher:

Please take your seats. Indian culture teaches us “Atithi Devo Bhava”—meaning the guest is equivalent to God. It is our privilege to have such distinguished guests with us today.

To officially open our cultural programme, I invite our Chief Guest and Principal to the stage for the traditional Lamp Lighting (Deep Prajwalan).

(As guests move to the lamp)
Just as a single lamp dispels darkness, may this light remove the darkness of ignorance from our lives. We light this lamp to invoke the blessings of the Goddess of Knowledge, Saraswati, and to pay tribute to Mother India.
4. Significance of the Day (The “Why”)

(Tone shifts to informative and inspiring)

Teacher:

Students, a question often arises: We gained independence on August 15th, 1947. So, why do we celebrate January 26th with such grandeur?

On August 15th, 1947, the British Union Jack came down, and India became free. However, to run a vast country like ours, we needed our own set of rules and laws.

It was the Constituent Assembly, led by the Architect of our Constitution, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, that worked tirelessly to draft the supreme law of the land.

On January 26, 1950, this Constitution came into force, and India officially transitioned into a Sovereign, Democratic Republic.

But why this specific date? History tells us that on January 26, 1930, on the banks of the river Ravi, the declaration of ‘Purna Swaraj’ (Total Independence) was made. To honor that historic pledge, January 26 was chosen as the day to implement our Constitution. Today, we celebrate the document that guarantees us Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity.

5. Cultural Program & Speeches (Transitions)
Teacher:

Our Constitution gives us rights, but it also reminds us of our duties. The future of this nation lies in the hands of its youth. As the saying goes:

“We are the future citizens of this country,
The spirit of patriotism rises on this Republic Day.”

[Student Speech Introduction] To share their thoughts on the power of democracy, I would like to call upon [Student Name] from Class [X].
(After speech): “Thank you, that was indeed a thought-provoking speech!”

[Patriotic Dance/Song Introduction] Now, let’s witness the vibrant colors of India. When the Tricolor waves, it fills us with an indescribable emotion.

“Saffron for sacrifice, White for peace,
Green for prosperity, this Tricolor is our legacy.”

Put your hands together for the students of the primary section as they present a patriotic dance performance dedicated to our soldiers!

6. Vote of Thanks & Conclusion
Teacher:

As we come to the end of this glorious ceremony, it is my duty to express gratitude.

“Why burden you with thanks, why garland you with flowers,
You reside in our hearts, does the heart need doors?”

I extend a formal Vote of Thanks to our Chief Guest for sparing their valuable time. A heartfelt thank you to our Principal for their guidance, and to the teachers and staff who worked hard to organize this event.

And finally, to you, my dear students—you are the strength of this nation. Let us leave here today with a promise to be responsible citizens.

Let us end with a slogan that echoes our pride. Loudly, with me:
