ही गोष्ट खरी दानशूरता आणि निरपेक्ष दानाचे महत्त्व शिकवते. एकदा कृष्ण आणि अर्जुन एका गावाकडे जात होते. अर्जुन वारंवार कृष्णाला विचारत होता की दानशूरतेसाठी कर्णाला आदर्श का मानले जाते, मला का नाही? त्याला धडा शिकवण्यासाठी कृष्णाने बोटे वाजवली आणि वाटेतील दोन डोंगर सोन्याचे केले. कृष्णाने अर्जुनाला सांगितले की हे सर्व सोने गावकऱ्यांमध्ये वाटून टाक. अर्जुनाने दोन दिवस आणि दोन रात्री सतत सोनं वाटले, पण डोंगर थोडेही कमी झाले नाहीत. तो थकून गेला आणि थांबला.
