चाणक्य आणि राक्षसाची ही कथा चाणक्याच्या बुद्धिमत्तेवर आणि निष्ठेवर आधारित आहे. चंद्रगुप्तला मगधचा राजा बनवण्याचे मोठे कार्य चाणक्याने केले होते. पण त्याला एक अजून महत्त्वाचे काम करायचे होते, ते म्हणजे राज्य चालवण्यासाठी एक सक्षम आणि बुद्धिमान मंत्री शोधणे. त्याची निवड नंद राज्याचा महान मंत्री असलेल्या राक्षसावर पडली, जो चंद्रगुप्तचा शत्रू होता. चाणक्यला राक्षसाला आपल्या बाजूने आणायचे होते, कारण त्याला माहित होते की राक्षसाच्या मदतीने राज्य सुरक्षित राहील.
