25. Narrate Swami’s
dreadful experience when he was lying under the

bench.

Ans –
Swami slept under the bench for safety. He fell into asleep unknowingly. He was
racked with a nightmare. A tiger was chasing him in the nightmare. His feet
struck to the ground. He desperately tried to escape but his feet would not
move. Swami tried to open his eyes but his eyelids would not open. The
nightmare continued. Swami groaned in despair. Later he got up and saw
something was moving down in the darkness. He came out in fear and hugged it
tightly and bit with his teeth.

26. Describe the
poet’s vision of his motherland.

Ans –
The poem ‘Song of India was written by V K Gokak. There are two speakers in
this poem. The poet(patriot) and the motherland. The poet appealed the
motherland to sing a song of glorious India. He wished to sing a song of the
positive points of the nation. He wished to sing a song of the three seas and
the Himalayan Mountain. He wished to sing a song of rockcut temples, epics in
stone and about the soldiers of the nation. He wished to sing a song of
developing India by describing the great qualities of the nation like dams,
steel mills, ship building yard, the technology and atomic age.

upon a time there was a tortoise and a hare. One day tortoise and hare had

for some time as rest. The tortoise moved steadily and crossed the final lines
and wins the race. Moral of the story : Slow and steady wins the race.

meet with his villagers, Arjun said, ‘’Friends, we

all have heard
tales from our grandparents about an underground river

flowing through our
village. Why don’t we dig and see?’’

The villagers
agreed and started digging. Arjun also joined them. He kept

encouraging them
and kept on digging.

After a few days,
when they had dug deep enough, they saw water! Arjun’s

positive thinking
and their hard efforts saved the whole village. Now they

are never short of
water.

Whenever a problem
arises, all should come together and find a solution.

36. Summarise the
poem ‘Grandma climbs a tree’’ in your own words.

Ans – ‘Grandma
Climbs A Tree’ poem was written by Ruskin Bond. His grandma was a genius old
woman. She liked climbing trees very much. She was climbing trees very quickly.
She learnt it by her loving brother at the age of 6years. Last time she climbed
a tree even at the age of 62 years. Once she was told to stop climbing trees.
Her relatives advised her to live gracefully but she refused it and continued
climbing trees. One day she climbed a tree and could not come down. Her health
was upset due to fear. At that time her relatives were in the town. Later she
was rescued. A doctor examined her health. She was advised by the doctor for
one week bed rest. She felt unsatisfied in the bed rest. So, she called her son
and demanded a house in the tree top. Her son fulfilled her desire. He prepared
a house in the tree-top with windows and a door. She went there and lived with
joy forever.
