There are three types
degrees

Comparative Degree

Positive Degree

1. Superlative Degree: 

1st noun+ verb+ adj./adv.(superlative) + 2ndnoun


eg. – M.S.Dhoni is the best captain in the world.

2. Comparative Degree: 

1stnoun + H.V./verb + adj./adv.( comparative) + than any other + 2nd noun

eg. – M.S.Dhoni is better than any other captain in the world.

3. Positive Degree : 

No
other + 2nd noun + H.V  +as+ adjective + as + 1st noun

eg. – No other captain in the world is as good as M.S.Dhoni.




Change into other degrees

The
sun is the brightest star in the sky.

Comparative
–The sun is brighter than any other star in the sky.

Positive – No other star in the sky as bright as the sun.

 Sachin
Tendulkar is popular than any other cricketer.

Answer:

Superlative – Sachin Tendulkar is the most popular cricketer.
Positive –  No other cricketer is as more popular as Sachin Tendulkar.

 No
other man in the village was as old as Dilip Sing.

Answer:

Superlative – Dilip Sing was the oldest man in the village.
Comparative – Dilip Sing was older than any other man in the village.

 Priti is the cleverest girl in the class.

Answer:

Positive – No other girl in the class is as clever as Priti.
Comparative – Priti is cleverer than any other girl in the class.

  No
other girl in the class is as tall as Geeta.

Answer:

Superlative
Geeta is the tallest girl in the class.

Comparative – Geeta is taller than any other girl in the class.
